Cartography using Esri's ArcGIS Pro
Updated: May 19
I had stumbled upon this useful course on Cartography last week. It gives me an opportunity to understand the art & science of mapping geographic data as well as obtain hands-on experience of using the powerful GIS platform - ArcGIS Pro. Much thanks to Esri!
Below is the output of Week 1's training - reproducing a map of the state of Massachusetts, USA - plotting the road features as well as the green areas. As always, I'm just in awe to know the extent of work that goes behind creating a professional-looking Map. Much to admire about cartographers!
There's another course on GIS by UC Davis on Coursera which is on similar lines and also very useful for those interested to explore this field. I actually started Intelloc Mapping Services (Mapmyops) feeling inspired about GIS' potential from this course.

Isn't it amazing how a single map visual can capture such a huge amount of information?
